Estancia
Peuma Hue. Naturally.

Deluxe lodging & activities in close connection with nature.

I can’t rate this place highly enough! The setting is paradise on earth! The food so delicious and fresh. The service was considerate and thoughtful. We went horse riding, kayaking and hiking. We slept under a giant mountain, the stars and butterscotch wooden beams. There are happy and healthy animals including cats, dogs and horses to cuddle. We don’t want to leave!!! 10 stars! —drkAustralia

Hotel and Eco-Lodge in Nahuel Huapi National Park

Estancia Peuma Hue is an enchanting hotel and Eco-lodge nestled within the grounds of the first and largest national park in Argentina, Nahuel Huapi National Park, in the Northern Patagonia Lake District.

Peuma Hue´s 500 acres of wilderness are located at the southern end of Lake Gutiérrez, only 25 minutes south from the town of Bariloche, 35 minutes from Mt Catedral and 45 minutes from its international airport. Bariloche is the gateway to the northern Patagonian Andes and an internationally renowned mountain resort, famous for its wonderful skiing in winter and its unique beauty in spring, summer and fall.

Estancia Peuma Hue is easily accessible, but still maintains a peacefulness and majestic nature found in few other locations. Our boutique estancia is a slice of heaven on earth. Explore the impressive mountain scenery on horseback, or hike on one of our numerous mountain trails that rise high into the mountains, past creeks, waterfalls, majestic forests, meeting a variety of fauna that call our estancia home!

The estancia is comprised of a main lodge and three independent log structures each with private rooms, en suites and communal lounge areas. We have a boardroom, a non-denominational temple, an organic vegetable garden and greenhouse, boathouse, stables and pastures for the horses. With a capacity for 28 guests and staff living on-site, our eco-lodge offers a highly personalized experience and an inviting atmosphere for all.

Estancia Peuma Hue, meaning “the place of dreams” in the native Mapuche language, is the incarnation of a dream. The owner, Evelyn Hoter, had always believed that she would find a place bringing together an inspiring natural environment and the tools needed to enhance one’s health, peaceful existence and a meaningful life. Upon discovering the land that was to become Peuma Hue she was overcome with a deep bodily truth confirming that she had found her inspiration, her place in the world.

“Peuma Hue was one of our very favorite things about our trip to Argentina. It is beautifully situated in the middle of the national park, on the edge of Lake Gutierrez (a half hour or so drive from the Bariloche airport) and surrounded by peaks, the location is stunning and tranquil. It isn’t fancy, but rustically elegant with a real personal feel. We very much liked the owner, Evelyn and the rest of the staff who made sure we had everything we needed and paid attention to little details. My wife and I love to hike the hikes themselves were great – lots of waterfalls, great views, condors flying over head. Plus, one or more of the eight Peuma Hue dogs usually joined us. We spent every day hiking and had a great time, but other guests went kayaking, horseback riding, or lounged around on the grass by the lake. They can also arrange fishing, rafting and other outings off site as well. The food is fantastic (even the lunches they prepared for us to take on our hikes were amazing) and so is the wine. Finally, the rooms were fabulous – thick robes, great beds, stunning views of the lake and mountain peaks. We plan to go back to Argentina and when we do, we’ll definitely make sure to stay at Peuma Hue again.” —Reyna DC
